BC Wildlife Federation
By becoming a member of Victoria Golden Rods and Reels you automatically become a member of the BC Wildlife Federation. With that membership you receive The “Outdoor Edge” magazine which is published 6 times per year. You can check them out on our links page.

ACS and FSAB
Is made up of representatives of a number of conservation minded clubs ie: Golden Rods Reels, Westcoast Fly Fishers, Victoria Fish & Game Protective Ass’n, Goldstream Volunteer Salmonid Enhancement Ass’n, RCN Anglers. These groups act in an advisory capacity to the DFO.

Meetings
Meetings are held each Tuesday at 9:00 at the Silver Threads Hall on Douglas Street. Speakers include members sharing their interesting life stories, local experts on Fly tying techniques, estate planning specialist, representatives of the DFO. Check out our events page to see what is coming up

Salt & Freshwater events
We hold regular fishing outings at Elk Lake, Camping outings at Buttle Lake, Fishing for Sockeye at China Creek and a couple of lunch / derby days

Organized Camping
Each spring and fall a small group head out to Buttle Lake for 5 days. Although there is no (organized) fishing Salmon Point offers a good setting for a June trip and great fun. July brings sun, rain and Sockeye to China Creek. Cluxewe is a great getaway place for fly fishing for pinks in August.

Annual Presentation
Each year at our Christmas party the club awards trophies for the salmon, trout, bottom fish and hidden weight. A non–fishing member also receives a prize. Check out our entry form (in the Tackle Box) for detailed information.

Monthly Newsletter
Our monthly newsletter includes reports from all committees, calendar of events and stories submitted by members.

Support and Education
If you need help (with anything) you can find it in this club. The knowledge of the members is amazing and you couldn’t meet a nicer group of people willing to lend a hand.
